HONG Kong is firmly cementing itself as Asia’s leading Arts hub throughout the month of March. The Hong Kong Arts Month present visitors with a line-up of cultural events such as the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2015, Art Basel, Art Central, Le French May, with theatre, music, art exhibitions and more. The following is a brief description of the exciting events to come!
Hong Kong Arts Festival 2015
Feature a dazzling array of 49 international and local ensembles, solo artists, not to mention up to 137 performances. In addition, the Festival’s broad spectrum of events pitches to a wide range of appetite, from classical music, avant-garde theatre, to electrifying dance. Artists, curators, aficionados and admirers of beauty from all around the globe expect to be in awe at Hong Kong’s art haven. It is on till March 29.
Art Basel
From emerging talents to the Modern masters of both Asia and the West, Art Basel in Hong Kong traces twelve decades of art history across its six sectors: Galleries, Insights, Discoveries, Encounters, Magazines and Film. On display will be the highest quality of paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, video and works from the 20th and 21st centuries, by more than 3,000 artists from Asia and around the globe
Art Central
Art Central will debut in a specially built pavilion in the heart of the city on Hong Kong Island’s waterfront, close to Star Ferry and the newly opened Observation Wheel. Art Central invites the art-loving public to engage with museum-quality works by showcasing the next generation of talent alongside the most established contemporary galleries and art spaces from around the world.
